What a hoot! Let's get rid of the opposition to the path because, well, because. It reminds me of an analogous situation stated in Maier's Law: If the the facts do not conform to the theory, they must be disposed of. Those who want to preserve Atlanta Memorial Park must also be disposed of, by any means possible. Get them out of the way so we can ruin the park and then retire to our comfy abodes, away from the problems we caused. Roll over, people, and play dead!
Clarence, You could do a big favor and publish the petition that has been going around and the letter that went with it. This would handle the accusations that people haven't been told the truth.
I am gathering information and sorting out through various stories. My goal is always to try to provide accuracy. I must verify that everything I have received is a true copy.
From the rather hysterical reactions of people, it doesn't seem that they are reading what I have been reading.
The Gadfly should watch developments closely over the next couple of weeks. The MPCA board has been thoroughly briefed on the reasons why there has been such tremendous opposition to the notion of a permanent path, and to the behavior of the path committee (now called the trail committee for some reason). The upcoming semi-annual meeting of the association in October should be interesting. Stay tuned.
